Prettysure that EGR related issues are rare on the 2.0 The exhaust gases are cooled before passing through it unlike on the 1.9 and 2.4 which means it doesn't get coked up with carbon nearly as much. The 2.0 JTDm 159 isn't a fast car, it is more of a comfy cruiser with warmish performance.

Alfa159 2.0 JTDM EGR and MAP cleaning. I thought I will share an issue I had recently with my 159 2.0 JTDM. One day, driving on a motorway I was getting ready to overtake, so downshift and foot to the floor. As the revs go to around 4000 the engine light came on and the car went into a limp mode.
